Job summary

Chartwells K12 in the United States is seeking an Executive Chef to oversee the culinary operations of our K-12 food service program. This role focuses on delivering high-quality meals for students while supporting district events and engagement programs.

The Executive Chef will lead daily kitchen operations, ensure food quality and presentation, manage catering for board dinners and school events, and train staff to maintain safety, efficiency, and cost controls across the operation.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in culinary arts or equivalent experience.
• Two+ years of culinary/kitchen management experience, catering preferred.
• Proven success in complex foodservice operations in K12 or similar.
• Hands-on chef with knowledge of trends, quality, sanitation, cost and presentation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and email systems.
• Willingness to engage in client satisfaction programs.

Responsibilities

• Develop regular and specialty menus in line with K12 standards.
• Train kitchen staff in food prep, equipment operation, safety.
• Maintain cleaning and maintenance schedules.
• Manage inventory and ensure vital products are available.
• Ensure compliance with health and sanitation regulations.
• Participate in departmental meetings and professional programs.
• Support catered events and district meetings.
