Job summary

Gila River Resorts & Casinos in Chandler, AZ seeks a Kitchen Supervisor to lead a fast‑paced, high‑volume dining operation. You will supervise, coach, and mentor culinary staff to meet the enterprise’s quality standards and the GILA WAY.

You’ll schedule, hire, train, and manage performance while ensuring compliance with health, safety, and company policies. Excellent guest service and strong communication are essential, with a focus on team collaboration and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in food preparation, management, nutrition or related field preferred.
• Prior experience in professional culinary training or fast-paced, high-volume dining/ catering environments.
• Experience across volume feeding, ala carte, fine dining, catering, baking and pastry, and purchasing/storage handling.
• Must obtain and maintain required certifications: Food Handlers Card, Alcohol Awareness, BBP, and other trainings.
• Understand and apply Enterprise Policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent guest service, phone etiquette, and self‑starter with ability to follow up with minimal supervision.
• Ability to build effective working relationships and collaborate with guests and team members.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Promotes and provides excellent guest service experiences to both internal and external guests.
• Responsible for supervision of the entire kitchen operation within their department.
• Actively and independently manage all aspects of employee relations to ensure a positive, harmonious, compliant and cooperative work environment with the kitchen area.
• Responsible for scheduling culinary team. Oversee all aspects of hiring, training, performance, management and discipline of culinary team.
• Ensures training of assigned shift kitchen staff is conducted in a timely manner.
• Performs other special projects and duties as assigned.
