GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB

Under the supervision of the Director of Athletics, the Head CheerCoach will support the Cheerleading Program by assisting with theorganizing, coordinating, and promoting of a comprehensive programdesigned to meet the needs and interest of the school community,NCAA, and the CIAA. The Head Cheer Coach will help students toachieve a high level of skill and appreciation for the values ofdiscipline and sportsmanship.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• The Head Cheer Coach secures facilities through the AthleticsDepartment to ensure safe practice and competitive environments forstudents.
• Plans and communicates with assistants and volunteer regardingpractice sessions and competition strategies ensuring the healthand physical well-being of student participants.
• Develops, communicates and maintains practice and gameparticipation schedules.
• Maintains current inventory of equipment and uniforms.
• Manages fundraising related activities.
• Models and instills the values of sportsmanship and fair play toall participants and enforces consequences for breach of suchstandards.
• Maintains proper supervision of student athletes at practices,games, in locker rooms, and on school providedtransportation.
• Maintains relationship with current athletic staff includingadministrators, coaches and volunteers.

ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Performs related duties as required.

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

Requires a Bachelor’s degree and knowledge of cheerleading from acoaching or former NCAA student-athlete perspective. Mustdemonstrate, intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Office,Teams, Excel, and word. Excellent oral and written communicationskills are also required. The ability to establish and maintaineffective working relationships with faculty, staff, and studentsfrom diverse backgrounds is an essential skill. Must be able toprioritize work to meet multiple deadlines with minimalsupervision. Familiarity with NCAA and CIAA Compliance rules andregulations.
