Job summary

Lowe's in Howell, AR is hiring a courteous cashier to provide superior customer service and help customers find and load merchandise.

You will operate the register, process payments, handle returns, and assist with product information while keeping aisles clean and well-stocked. The role includes upselling add-ons, following Lowe's policies, and staying vigilant for safety and loss prevention guidelines. Prior cashier experience is a plus, and in-store training is provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education requirement, if applicable.
• Less than 1 Year Experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
• Less than 1 Year Experience using common retail technology, such as smart phones and tablets.
• 1 Year Retail experience as a cashier.
• Ability to obtain sales related licensure or registration as may be required by law.

Responsibilities

• Provides SMART customer service at all times through Lowe's customer service policies, procedures and programs.
• Seeks out customers to understand needs and assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise.
• Listens to and responds to customer and employee questions and guides them through projects when necessary.
• Communicates information to customers regarding stock, special order merchandise, and warranty information related to Lowe’s programs.
• Coaches, develops, trains associates in department duties or sales opportunities.
• Uses a cash register to process sales transactions, returns, and refunds according to company guidelines.
• Provides proper monetary change to front-end associates for register activities.
• Removes security tags, verifies product information, and bags merchandise for customers.
• Inspects returned merchandise for damages.
• Looks up product information and competitor prices for price matching.
• Records all items used in the store on the store use lists.
• Completes cash counting and daily reconciliation duties as assigned.
• Monitors cash in drawer and cash recycler levels.
• Detects signs of shoplifting and communicates them to management.
• Maintains a safe and clean work environment and adheres to safety requirements.
