Overview of Responsibilities

At Sprouts Farmers Market, the Head Cashier is responsible for supervising a team of cashiers and assisting with operational issues.

• Ensure excellent customer service by proactively visiting registers and providing support to Cashiers and Courtesy Clerks.
• Assist with customer assistance issues at the register.
• Assign store sweeps, monitor/maintain cash register supply levels, and keep the restrooms and parking lots clean.
• Maintain visibility of exit doors for security and loss prevention.
• Schedule and oversee proper execution of meal and rest breaks in accordance with company policy and state laws.
• Assist in hiring and training new Cashiers and take disciplinary actions when necessary.

Qualifications

To be a Head Cashier at Sprouts Farmers Market, you must:

• Be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED, and have 1-2 years of cashiering experience with leadership training.
• Be dependable and reliable, with a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Have an outgoing, friendly demeanor, a positive attitude, and excellent customer interaction skills.
• Be able to operate front-end equipment such as registers, calculators, and scanners.
• Possess good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
• Be able to perform repetitive tasks, multitask, prioritize, and stay organized.
• Must lift/carry up to 30 lbs. and move grocery carts requiring up to 35 lbs. of force, for up to 50 hours without mechanical assistance.
• Have strong attention to detail, proficiency with numbers, and skills in cash handling and mathematics.
