Overview of Responsibilities

At Sprouts Farmers Market, the Head Cashier is responsible for supervising a team of cashiers and assisting with operational issues. Responsibilities include:

• Ensuring excellent customer service by proactively visiting registers and providing support to Cashiers and Courtesy Clerks
• Assisting with customer issues at the register
• Assigning store sweeps, monitoring cash register supply levels, and maintaining cleanliness standards
• Maintaining visibility of exit doors for security and loss prevention
• Scheduling and overseeing meal and rest breaks in compliance with policies and regulations
• Assisting in hiring and training new Cashiers and managing disciplinary actions

Qualifications

To qualify as a Head Cashier at Sprouts Farmers Market, you must:

• Be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED, and have 1-2 years of cashiering experience with leadership training
• Be dependable with a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Display outgoing, friendly behavior and a positive attitude
• Operate front-end equipment such as registers, calculators, and scanners
• Possess good communication skills and ability to work in a team
• Be able to perform repetitive activities, multi-task, prioritize, and stay organized
• Lift/carry up to 30 lbs. and move grocery carts requiring up to 35 lbs. of force
• Have strong attention to detail, proficiency in cash handling, and mathematical skills
