Responsibilities

At Sprouts Farmers Market, the Head Cashier is responsible for supervising a team of cashiers and assisting with operational issues. Key responsibilities include:

• Providing excellent customer service by proactively visiting registers and supporting Cashiers and Courtesy Clerks
• Handling customer assistance issues at the register
• Assigning store sweeps, monitoring supply levels, and maintaining cleanliness standards
• Ensuring security at exit doors and monitoring loss prevention
• Scheduling and overseeing breaks in compliance with policies and laws
• Participating in hiring, training, and disciplinary actions for Cashiers

Qualifications

To qualify as a Head Cashier, candidates must:

• Be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED and 1-2 years of cashiering experience with leadership training
• Be dependable, reliable, and flexible to work nights, weekends, and holidays
• Have an outgoing, friendly demeanor and positive attitude
• Operate front-end equipment such as registers and scanners
• Possess good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
• Be able to perform repetitive tasks, multi-task, and stay organized
• Lift/carry up to 30 lbs. and move grocery carts requiring up to 35 lbs. of force
• Have strong attention to detail, proficiency with numbers, and cash handling skills
