Responsibilities

At Sprouts Farmers Market, the Head Cashier supervises a team of cashiers and assists with operational issues. Key responsibilities include:

1. Ensuring excellent customer service through proactive engagement at registers and supporting Cashiers and Courtesy Clerks.
2. Handling customer assistance issues at the register.
3. Assigning store sweeps, monitoring and maintaining cash register supplies, and keeping restrooms and parking lots clean.
4. Maintaining visibility at exit doors for security and loss prevention.
5. Scheduling and overseeing proper execution of breaks in compliance with policies and regulations.
6. Assisting in hiring and training new Cashiers and managing disciplinary actions.

Qualifications

To qualify as a Head Cashier at Sprouts Farmers Market, candidates must:

• Be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED, and have 1-2 years of cashiering experience with leadership training.
• Be dependable, reliable, and flexible to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Be outgoing, friendly, and positive, demonstrating exemplary behavior and customer interaction skills.
• Operate front-end equipment such as registers, calculators, and scanners.
• Possess good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
• Be able to perform repetitive activities, multitask, prioritize, and stay organized.
• Lift/carry items weighing up to 30 lbs. and move grocery carts requiring up to 35 lbs. of force.
• Have strong attention to detail, proficiency in cash handling, and good numerical skills.
