Overview of Responsibilities

At Sprouts Farmers Market, the Head Cashier is responsible for supervising a team of cashiers and assisting with operational issues.

1. Ensure excellent customer service through proactively visiting registers and providing support to Cashiers and Courtesy Clerks.
2. Assist with customer assistance issues at the register.
3. Assign store sweeps, monitor/maintain cash register supply levels, and uphold cleanliness standards in restrooms and parking lots.
4. Maintain visibility of exit doors for security and loss prevention.
5. Schedule and oversee proper execution of meal and rest breaks in compliance with company policy and state requirements.
6. Assist in hiring and training new Cashiers and taking disciplinary actions as necessary.

Qualifications

To be a Head Cashier at Sprouts Farmers Market, you must:

• Be at least 18 years old, possess a high school diploma or GED, and have 1-2 years of recent cashiering experience with leadership training.
• Be dependable and reliable, with the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Have an outgoing and friendly demeanor, a positive attitude, and the ability to interact with customers as a role model.
• Operate front-end equipment such as registers, calculators, and scanners.
• Possess good communication skills, able to take direction and participate in a team environment.
• Perform repetitive activities, multi-task, prioritize, and stay organized.
• Lift/carry products weighing up to 30 lbs., and move grocery carts requiring a force up to 35 lbs., for specified distances and durations.
• Have strong attention to detail, proficiency with numbers, cash handling, and mathematical skills; ability to read, write, and count.

Pay Range

The pay range for this position is $15.80 - $21.35/hour, determined based on experience and qualifications.
