The Job in a Nutshell:

The Head Cashier is responsible for the successful operation of the front end by cashiering, training, directing, and monitoring cashiers, providing World Class Customer Service, and supporting overall store operations.

Responsibilities:

• Providing excellent customer service and creating a positive customer experience.
• Training and supervising cashiers, ensuring they communicate about store programs and promotions.
• Handling cash register operations, including issuing cash drawers, processing returns, and managing overrides.
• Addressing customer complaints and ensuring the front end is well-maintained and organized.
• Participating in store tasks such as tagging, stocking, cleaning, and assisting customers.
• Working a schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and holidays, with a 40-hour workweek.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
• Retail experience, especially in grocery or natural foods, is a plus.
• Cashiering and supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to pass food safety certifications and manage changing priorities.
• Excellent customer service, organization, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
