Job summary

An established industry player is seeking a Head Bus Mechanic to oversee the maintenance and repair of school buses. This role requires expertise in both diesel and gasoline engines, along with a strong understanding of electrical systems. The ideal candidate will possess a High School Diploma and ASE certification, ensuring compliance with state guidelines. Working under the Director of Administrative Services, you will lead a team of assistant mechanics in maintaining a fleet that meets safety standards. Qualifications

Position:

Head Bus Mechanic

Qualifications:
  1. High School Diploma
  2. Certified ASE / automotive & truck, engine & drive train
  3. Demonstrated knowledge of diagnostic and repair skills of both diesel and gasoline bus engines, electrical systems, and body components
  4. Familiarity with State guidelines concerning minimum school bus construction standards
  5. The ability to obtain the required CDL license to operate a school bus in Ohio
  6. Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities
  7. Alternative qualifications as deemed appropriate and acceptable by the Board
Reporting and Supervision:

Reports to: Director of Administrative Services

Supervises: Assistant Mechanic(s)

Terms of Employment:

A twelve-month work year with salary, benefits, and work days established by the Board.
