Da Vinci Academy for Science and the Arts at San Antonio in San Antonio, TX seeks a dedicated High School/Middle School Baseball Coach to lead our program as Head Baseball Coach. The role reports to the Athletic Director and offers a stipend based on district schedule and experience.

Qualifications

• Prior playing and/or coaching experience in baseball preferred.
• Strong knowledge of baseball rules, strategy, and player safety practices.
• Ability to work with and mentor high school-aged student-athletes.
• Valid CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Completion of state-required coaching education/certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Background check clearance required.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct practices, drills, and conditioning programs appropriate to player skill level.
• Organize and run tryouts; select and manage team roster.
• Coordinate game schedules, transportation, and facility use with the Athletic Director.
• Supervise student-athletes at all practices, games, and team-related events.
• Teach fundamental skills, strategy, and rules of baseball.
• Monitor and promote student-athletes' academic eligibility and progress.
• Enforce school and district rules regarding conduct, safety, and sportsmanship.
• Manage and maintain equipment, uniforms, and facility (field prep, batting cages, etc.).
• Communicate regularly with players, parents/guardians, and administration.
• Ensure compliance with state athletic association rules and eligibility requirements.
• Attend required coaches' meetings and trainings.
• Maintain CPR/First Aid and any state-mandated coaching certifications.
• Support fundraising and booster club efforts as needed.
