Company Description Premier Athletic Club is a relaxed, family-run multi-sport facility that has served the Northern Westchester community for 35 years. The club offers a wide range of amenities for all ages, including indoor and outdoor pools, a state-of-the-art cardio and fitness center, group exercise classes, and courts for tennis and racquetball. Members and guests also enjoy an NBA-size gymnasium, massage services, jacuzzi, steam and sauna, youth programs, and a nursery. While many facilities are reserved for members and their guests, lessons, specialty classes, workshops, summer camps, and Valerio’s Restaurant and Sandbar are open to the public, creating an inviting environment for both regular members and visitors.

Role Description The Head Bartender is a full-time, on-site role located in Montrose, NY, responsible for leading bar operations at Valerio’s Restaurant and Sandbar. This role includes preparing and serving a variety of beverages, managing inventory and stock levels, maintaining a clean and organized bar area, and ensuring compliance with all safety and alcohol service regulations. The Head Bartender will train, guide, and support bar staff, create or refine drink menus, and deliver a welcoming experience for members and public guests. Daily tasks also involve coordinating with kitchen and restaurant staff, handling payments, and supporting special events and functions hosted at the club.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Customer Service skills and the ability to build positive relationships with members and guests.
• Candidates should possess effective Communication skills for interacting with guests, colleagues, and management.
• Candidates should possess Food & Beverage knowledge, including drink preparation, menu familiarity, and basic food safety awareness.
• Candidates should possess Bartending skills, including cocktail mixing, beer and wine service, and bar setup/breakdown.
• Candidates should possess Cash Handling skills, including operating POS systems, processing payments, and balancing drawers accurately.
• Previous experience as a bartender or head bartender in a restaurant, bar, or hospitality setting is strongly preferred.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, work evenings and weekends, and manage a fast-paced, guest-focused environment.
• Knowledge of local alcohol service laws and regulations; relevant certifications (e.g., responsible beverage service) are a plus.
• Strong organizational skills, reliability, and a team-oriented mindset.
