Job summary

Catholic Diocese of Wichita seeks a high school athletic coach to organize and supervise the entire sports program, coaching major sports with a focus on developing skill, strategy and character. The coach will work closely with the Athletic Director and principals to align athletic objectives with school values and community expectations.

The role emphasizes leadership, ongoing professional development through clinics and observations, and a commitment to good sportsmanship and student welfare

Qualifications

• Experience organizing and supervising a total sports program.
• Previous successful coaching experience in assigned sport (major sports).
• Coach must have substantial knowledge of the technical aspects and continually review new theories and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Has thorough knowledge of athletic policies and ensures staff compliance.
• Understands system, state and league regulations; interprets them for staff.
• Adheres to proper administrative chain of command and attends required meetings.
• Maintains discipline and oversees staff effectiveness and morale.
• Assists in scheduling, transportation, and tournament logistics; ensures facility times are met.
• Informs and mentors student athletes on skills, strategy, and character development.
• Supports budgeting and equipment management; ensures proper safeguarding and inventory.
