The Archdiocese of San Antonio Careers seeks an Athletic Director to lead a Catholic school athletic program, promote student health and safety, and uphold Gospel values. The role includes decision-making within essential job functions, in alignment with school policies and archdiocesan standards.

Responsibilities cover hiring and evaluating coaches, budgeting, coordinating schedules and travel, ensuring compliance with league rules, and maintaining records and communications with staff,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field.
• Please upload transcripts and certifications when applying.
• Extensive knowledge of TAPS rules and regulations.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to use PC and software to develop spreadsheets/databases.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver license/insurance.
• Must pass Safe Environment and background screenings.
• Must pass Texas DPS fingerprint-based screening; Do Not Hire Registry.

Responsibilities

• Supports and upholds the philosophy of Catholic education and the school mission.
• Acts as a witness to Gospel values by modeling Catholic teachings.
• Hire, supervise, and evaluate coaches; coordinate annual training sessions.
• Plan and implement a comprehensive athletic program for students.
• Ensure safety through guidelines, training, and supervision of athletes and coaches.
• Maintain athletic calendars, inventories, and equipment purchases.
• Develop budgets and allocate spending for salaries, travel, equipment, and facilities.
• Coordinate scheduling with conferences/leagues; communicate with league officials.
• Maintain records, communicate schedules, and manage field/gym use.
• Meet staff development guidelines; demonstrate professionalism and reliability.
