Job summary

Dnata Travel Group in Orlando, FL is seeking an experienced accounts payable professional to lead and develop the AP team, process invoices and payments, and support the Senior Accountant with month-end close and journal entries.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in AP, strong analytical skills, proficiency in MS Dynamics 365 Business Central or similar ERP, and excellent communication to coordinate with vendors and internal teams.

Job description

A skilled accounts payable professional is responsible for managing and developing the AP team, processing invoices, expense accounts and payments to vendors in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner, and for providing supporting accounting and journal entry assistance to the Senior Accountant.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Manages, supervises, and develops 1-2 AP professionals, including assigning work, reviewing output, and providing day-to-day direction and feedback.
• Ensures vendor invoices and payments are recorded accurately and that payments are processed in a timely manner.
• Ensures that expense reports and other invoices are analyzed for accuracy and eligibility for payment.
• Preparation & processing of rent payments, in line with the current facility and equipment lease agreements, monthly CAM reconciliations.
• Monthly P&L expense analysis review as a part of the month end closing activities.
• Prepares journal entries (e.g., accruals, reclassifications, and adjustments) and assists the Senior Accountant with month-end close activities and supporting schedules, as needed.
• Reconciles accounts payable total and general ledger with other applicable records (e.g., subsidiary vendor ledgers).
• Ensures proper recordkeeping of purchases for use in tax preparation and periodic audits.
• Ensure employer identification numbers, W9s and banking information have been collected from all vendors.
• Trains and oversees employees involved in AP functions. Directs assigned tasks and provides assistance as needed.
• Ensures proper maintenance, filing, and storage of records in case of audits.
• Manages and co-ordinates the AP team to deliver daily, weekly, and monthly processing and reporting for AP function.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• High school Diploma or equivalent.
• 5 years of progressive Accounts Payable experience.
• Working knowledge of general ledger accounting and the ability to prepare accurate journal
• entries.
• Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Working knowledge in MS Dynamics 365 Business Central is an advantage.
• Thorough understanding of accounts payable functions and platforms (e.g. Reqlogic, Core Integrator)
• Excellent analytical skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to motivate and supervise staff.
