Job summary

American Boring INC in Carroll, OH is seeking an experienced Horizontal Directional Drill (HDD) Operator to safely and efficiently operate HDD equipment on underground utility and fiber installation projects.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of HDD operating or locating experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions with a commitment to safety.

Qualifications

• 1 year HDD operating or locating experience.
• Ability to operate HDD equipment safely and efficiently.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate HDD equipment and related machinery.
• Perform drilling operations per project plans and utility requirements.
• Maintain awareness of underground utilities and hazards on site.
• Load/unload equipment, materials, and tools as needed.
• Perform routine inspections and minor repairs on drilling equipment.
• Troubleshoot equipment or operational issues in the field.
• Collaborate with locators and crew to complete projects safely.
• Follow OSHA and company safety procedures.
• Assist with general construction and site duties as required.
