Job summary

The Orange County Housing and Community Development Department seeks a HCV Housing Specialist to administer services for low- and moderate-income residents participating in the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Social and/or Political Science, Sociology, Urban Planning, Business Administration, Community Development, Counseling, Social Work or related field with 2 years’ direct housing/social services experience
• Associate’s Degree in listed fields with 4 years’ direct housing/social services experience
• High School/GED with 6 years’ direct housing/social services experience, 3 years in HCV program
• Equivalent combination of education, training and experience; higher degree does not substitute

Responsibilities

• Administers services for low- and moderate-income residents in the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program
• Coordinate annual certification for the HCV program
• Perform client interviews to determine eligibility and program compliance
• Handle portability clients and revenue reporting/reconciliation
• Refer clients to human services resources as appropriate
