Roanoke Redevelopment and Housing Authority is seeking a HCV Specialist I to join its Housing Choice Voucher team in Roanoke, Virginia. This full-time role handles leasing-related tasks, enters initial Section 8 applications, and determines eligibility based on income and family size.

The position requires accurate data entry, documentation review, and computing housing payments and rental rates. You will communicate with clients and landlords and support lease signings and program compliance.

Formación

• High School Diploma or GED and two years of work with a public-contact role or social services program.
• Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred in public administration, social sciences, or related field.
• Bilingual (Spanish and English) preferred.
• Housing Choice Voucher Rent Calculation Specialist Certification required.

Responsabilidades

• Enter initial Section 8 applications into tenant-based software and determine eligibility based on income and family size.
• Compute housing assistance payments and family rental rates; notify clients and landlords of changes.
• Review documents, verify income, and update client records in Excel.
• Assist with signing leases, processing verifications, and responding to client inquiries.
