About the Job :
The HCM Business Analyst Payroll plays a key role in managing and optimizing payroll systems in partnership with the payroll team within the organization’s IT systems. This position ensures the accuracy and integrity of payroll processes by maintaining system functionality, troubleshooting technical issues, and facilitating smooth data flow. The individual will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and enhance payroll-related systems, contributing to the overall effectiveness of IT operations.

What You'll Do :

1. Serve as the primary configuration and systems maintenance owner for the Human Capital Management (HCM) system specific to Payroll and UKG Pro Workforce Management.
2. Participate as a member of the core team in the HCM and UKG WFM digital transformation journey.
3. Assist in implementation and integration of new payroll-related software or system enhancements. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, project management, and the business, to ensure successful project delivery. Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure alignment and understanding of requirements.
4. Develop and maintain business requirements documentation, including user stories, use cases, and functional and technical specifications.
5. Design, develop, test, and maintain approved application changes to meet business requirements, ensure data integrity, and improve processes. Support development of test plans, training materials, and system documentation.
6. Manage RICE, workflow, dashboards, and other development components, including testing with offshore teams.
7. Ensure data integrity and confidentiality within HCM and UKG WFM modules and integrations.
8. Troubleshoot and resolve system errors, data mismatches, and technical issues.
9. Analyze and document business processes, workflows, interfaces, reports, and systems to identify improvement opportunities. Conduct data analysis to inform business decisions and recommend solutions.
10. Partner with payroll team to identify opportunities for enhancements as part of continuous improvement.
11. Work on IS projects such as upgrades, new implementations, and enhancements.
12. Monitor and manage interfaces, addressing issues promptly.
13. Generate custom reports and dashboards using SQL, Excel, or other tools.
14. Assist in other HCM-related projects and processes.
15. Participate in mergers/acquisitions to ensure setup meets contractual obligations.
16. Stay current on technology trends, payroll regulations, industry trends, and best practices.
17. Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills You'll Need :

1. Bachelor Degree in MIS, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field.
2. 3+ years’ experience supporting business users with HR, Kronos WFM, and Payroll software applications, including ERP systems like Oracle eBS, Fusion Cloud, PeopleSoft.
3. Strong background in HR, Benefits, and HCM systems such as PeopleSoft HCM and Oracle HCM Cloud. Experience with system implementation, business process testing, and change management is a plus.
4. Experience with HR and UKG WFM business applications, particularly Payroll.
5. Experience in requirements gathering, business process mapping, and stakeholder engagement.
6. Knowledge of HCM processes (HR, Payroll, Benefits) and compliance standards (FLSA, ACA, GDPR, HIPAA).
7. Strong problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis and solution evaluation.
8. Ability to translate business questions into software solutions.
9. High attention to detail and ability to work under deadlines.
10. Proficiency in creating ad-hoc queries and reports for troubleshooting.
11. Experience documenting and supporting system changes and reporting.
12. Ability to develop payroll procedures and training materials.
13. Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interfacing with management and teams.
14. Ability to prioritize and multitask effectively in high-volume environments.
