Position Overview

The HCM Account Executive is responsible for prospecting and developing emerging market business sales relationships with potential clients and closing new and expanded sales agreements. The role requires a proactive, consultative approach, strong prospecting skills, persistence, and a passion for sales. The environment is fast-paced, competitive, and quota-driven, targeting small businesses.

Remote office in the Austin Territory

Reports To

Director of Sales

Responsibilities
  • Generate new business opportunities using industry knowledge and expertise
  • Schedule and present Paylocity services to prospective clients
  • Prepare and present proposals, follow-up throughout the sales process
  • Organize and obtain documentation for client onboarding
  • Coordinate with internal departments for smooth client transition
  • Develop prospects via telemarketing, referrals, and contacts
  • Build relationships within the broker channel and referral sources
  • Maintain contact with existing customers for additional services
  • Attend trade shows, conferences, and events
  • Meet or exceed sales quotas
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of sales experience
  • Ability to succeed in a competitive environment
  • High activity levels and persistence
  • Critical thinking and decision-making skills
  • Customer service orientation
  • Strong presentation, communication, organizational, and time management skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office and Internet
  • Mobility for site visits and commuting
