Territory Manager - Payroll/ HCM

At Heartland, we are passionate about delivering innovative Payroll/HCM solutions that help businesses operate more effectively, increase sales, and engage customers. We understand the challenges of running a restaurant or retail store and seek a dedicated Territory Sales Manager to help us bring our solutions to merchants across the area.

As a Territory Sales Manager, you will drive revenue growth, acquire new business, and lead a team of sales professionals. You will work closely with your Division Manager to set appointments with business owners via phone, face-to-face meetings, your network, and referral partnerships. You will conduct appointments, identify needs, and present Heartland solutions to close sales in target markets such as restaurants, retail, medical, manufacturing, lodging, auto repair, and salons.

During your training, your Division Manager will accompany you on initial appointments to train you on our sales process and platform, Atlas. You will also coach and support your sales team to achieve their goals. You will have the flexibility to set your own schedule, work from home, and benefit from residuals on your business.

Additionally, you will be responsible for recruiting, hiring, and developing your sales team, reflecting our value that our people are our greatest asset.

Compensation is performance-based, including weekly commissions, residuals, and portfolio ownership. We seek a consultative sales professional passionate about delivering Payroll/HCM solutions to retail and restaurant clients.

Essential Responsibilities:
  1. Deliver engaging sales presentations with enthusiasm.
  2. Utilize Atlas CRM on your tablet to demonstrate our solutions.
  3. Educate business owners and referral partners about Payroll/HCM services.
  4. Maintain communication with your Territory/Division Manager.
  5. Train and coach sales reps under your leadership.
  6. Support your team in executing our sales playbook.
  7. Scout for talent and conduct interviews.
Other Responsibilities:
  1. Network locally to find potential sales reps.
  2. Exhibit strong prospecting, communication, and networking skills.
  3. Work independently and collaboratively.
  4. Be a proactive, performance-driven sales hunter.
  5. Maintain professionalism and integrity.
  6. Possess a high sense of urgency and innate sales talent.
  7. Enjoy cold-calling and face-to-face interactions.
  8. Have a proven track record in pipeline development and closing sales.
  9. Participation in business or merchant groups is a plus.
  10. Bilingual skills are a plus.
  11. This is a remote, field sales leadership role; travel is expected.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 18 years of age or older.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to client sites.
  • Background check and drug screening as per law.
  • Residence within the area relative to the job location.
  • Availability to spend at least 75% of time in the field.
Compensation & Benefits:
  • W2 employment with benefits including health, dental, life, and disability insurance.
  • Uncapped commissions, residuals, and portfolio ownership, with first-year earnings averaging $90,000 - $105,000+.
