Job summary

Firstech Environmental, Inc. seeks a HAZWOPER Environmental Operations Technician to support site remediation projects across New Jersey. You will prepare jobsites, perform earthwork, and ensure safety and quality on every task.

The role requires a 40-hr OSHA HAZWOPER certification (or willingness to obtain), a valid NJ driver's license, ability to lift up to 100 pounds, and the ability to work in varying weather conditions. In-person, full-time employment with benefits is offered.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a HAZWOPER Environmental Operations Technician who takes pride in hard work, teamwork, and safety.Your impactYou will support site remediation projects across New Jersey, working outdoors through all seasons. You will prepare jobsites, carry out earthwork, and keep projects moving—always with safety and quality at the forefront.Key responsibilitiesStage tools, equipment, and materials to kickstart daily field activities.Execute tasks from supervisor direction using a broad set of hand tools and equipment.Perform digging, soil movement, and compaction to prepare new construction areas.Clear hazardous and non-hazardous debris and maintain clean, orderly sites.Assist craft workers, masons, and the mechanical foreman as needed.Communicate proactively with company personnel to align on project needs.Wear required PPE at all times—headgear, ear plugs, gloves, safety glasses, respirator, protective clothing—and follow health and safety rules when onsite, operating equipment, and driving.Share knowledge by training fellow Environmental Field Laborers and expand your own skills by learning from coworkers.Clean and properly store construction equipment and tools at the end of each shift.Growth and credentials40-hr OSHA HAZWOPER certification (or willingness to obtain) plus 8-hr annual refresher.After fifteen (15) months of full-time employment, Firstech will support training and obtaining a valid CDL driver’s license for company use.What you bringValid, clean New Jersey driver’s license (no points) and dependable transportation (required).CDL Class A is a plus.Ability to stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 100 pounds.Comfort working independently and as part of a crew in changing weather.Experience: 2 years (skilled entry-level to labor); construction experience 1 year preferred.Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.Work Location: In person.Compensation and benefitsFull-time role with hourly pay of $24.00–$28.00, commensurate with experience.
