Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a HazMat Field Driver/Technician in North Carolina. You will transport hazardous and non-hazardous waste, operate Class A tractors and various trailers, and complete pickups on a Monday–Friday schedule with potential overnight shifts.

You will maintain logs, documents, and comply with DOT hazmat regulations while ensuring safety, accuracy, and customer satisfaction. Occasional lab pack work and site safety participation may occur.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL with HazMat and Tanker endorsements or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Pass 40-hour HAZWOPER training on hire.
• Physical ability to lift heavy objects and perform loading/unloading tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions and multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate trucks including roll-offs, tankers, gravel trains, tractor-trailers and box trucks.
• Perform LTL pickups and DOT compliance tasks.
• Maintain logs, waste manifests, trip reports and related driver documentation.
• Comply with DOT regulations for hazardous waste collection, packaging, loading, labeling and containment.
