Job summary

The Broward County Board of County Commissioners seeks a Natural Resources Specialist - regulatory-type field inspection concentration with the Pollution Prevention Section of the Environmental Permitting Division. The role focuses on enforcing environmental ordinances and inspecting hazardous material and storage tank facilities to protect air, land, and water quality in Broward County.

Responsibilities include regulatory inspections, issuing notices of violation, responding to service

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry, geology, biology or environmental science or closely related field.
• Six months experience in natural resource protection or related field.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Class E driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regulatory-type field inspections of haz-mat and storage tank facilities and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
• Cite non-compliance items, issue notices of violation, and prepare related correspondence.
• Input findings into licensing and inspection databases and generate inspection reports.
