Job summary

NAVSUP FLC Norfolk is seeking a HAZMAT Specialist I/Material Coordinator to provide logistics support and equipment operating services. The role involves preparing materials for distribution, moving items with forklifts and hand trucks, and utilizing the GDS system for inventory management.

Qualifications

• Must have obtained a High School diploma or GED.
• Possess a minimum of four (4) years logistical experience, with at least two (2) years in a Navy or MarineCorps environment.
• Contract personnel are required to have and maintain a current, valid state driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Understand and comply with Naval Supply Procedures for inventory management of decentralized and decontrolled items.
• Maintain contact with customers and other offices on HAZMAT item requirements.
• Provide accurate accounting and reporting for nonexpendable property and prepare related documents.
