Job summary

Clean Harbors in Newburgh, NY is seeking a Field Services Technician I to support hazardous waste cleanup, site remediation, equipment decontamination and handling of hazardous materials in the field.

This role requires physical labor, strict adherence to safety policies, and on-call emergency response on a rotating schedule; candidates will attend a paid two-week out-of-state Academy with travel expenses covered.

Qualifications

• Reliable transportation is required.
• Valid Driver’s license required.
• Ability to perform physical functions per job requirements.
• On-call emergency response on rotating basis; weekends/holidays may be required; shifts can extend beyond 8 hours.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize health and safety and follow all policies.
• Perform strenuous physical labor and operate light/heavy equipment and tools.
• Wear and use PPE including respirators; adhere to protection standards.
• Work outdoors in varying temperatures and conditions; handle hazardous materials.
• On-call for emergency response on a rotating schedule; assist in field sampling and calibration of meters.
• Inspect drums and ensure regulatory compliance; safely load/unload waste.
