Job summary

FedEx Supply Chain, Inc. seeks a HazMat/DG shipping specialist to ensure safe handling, documentation, and compliant packaging of hazardous goods. The role supports inbound/outbound shipments, with PPE and spill response responsibilities.

You will process required paperwork, perform inspections, and stay current on DOT, IATA and IMDG regulations while training teammates. This is a US-based non-exempt position with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED plus 2+ years of warehouse or logistics experience.
• Valid Hazardous Materials/Dangerous Goods certification preferred.
• Strong understanding of hazardous materials labeling, packaging and waste regulations.
• Forklift certification may be required.
• Ability to maneuver 55-gallon drums for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Verify, prepare, and process documentation for DG/HazMat shipments per DOT, IATA, and IMDG rules.
• Inspect, label, package, and segregate dangerous goods per safety standards.
• Store hazardous materials and perform routine storage area inspections.
• Respond to HazMat spills, implement cleanup plans, and use PPE.
• Conduct audits of dangerous goods for regulatory compliance.
• Maintain updated regulatory knowledge and train team members on handling procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
