Job summary

Republic Services in Tacoma, WA is seeking a HazMat Retail Driver (CDL A) to pick up retail waste from stores and industrial sites in an LTL capacity. You will verify packaging, labeling, and safe transport, maintain manifests, and provide excellent on-site service.

The role runs Monday through Friday with potential overnight shifts; weekends/holidays are usually off. A 40-hour HAZWOPER certification is required on hire; HazMat endorsement preferred.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL with MVR meeting policy standards.
• Willing to pass 40-hour HAZWOPER training upon hire.
• Lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks as needed.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Operate Class A trucks in LTL capacity to collect retail waste.
• Provide excellent on-site customer service and communication.
• Maintain vehicle log and documentation of manifests/work orders.
• Perform DOT pre-trip and post-trip inspections per regulations.
• Understand DOT hazmat packaging, labeling, load security, and placarding.
