Job summary

Veolia is hiring for an on-site transportation and disposal specialist in the North American market. You will handle sample waste, packaging, and transfer coordination while ensuring compliance with DOT and EPA regulations.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, with a preference for a chemistry degree and a 40-hour HAZWOPER certification. A valid driver’s license and CDL with hazardous endorsement are often required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related science is preferred.
• HAZWOPER certification is required/desired for the role.
• Valid driver’s license and CDL with Hazardous endorsement may be necessary.

Responsibilities

• Sample waste streams according to prescribed policies and procedures.
• Manifesting, packaging, spill clean-up response and remedial activities, labeling, loading, off loading, and coordinating transportation.
• Maintain a professional image to clients by answering inquiries and suggesting solutions to existing/potential problems.
• Comply and enforce all compliance, health, safety, and procedures in accordance with Veolia policies.
• Become familiar with DOT/EPA and Veolia regulations required for disposal paperwork.
• Operate and maintain all equipment to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
• Other duties as assigned.
