Job summary

Veolia in North America seeks a dedicated specialist to provide transportation and disposal services for hazardous waste. Responsibilities include manifesting, packaging, spill response, labeling, and coordinating shipments while complying with DOT/EPA and Veolia policies.

Ideal candidates will hold a high school diploma or GED, may have a chemistry-related degree, and possess a 40-hour HAZWOPER certification plus a valid driver’s license with CDL potential.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED.
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related science preferred.
• 40-hour HAZWOPER certification is required.
• Valid driver’s license; ability to obtain CDL with Hazardous endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Sample waste streams according to prescribed policies and procedures.
• Manifesting, packaging, spill clean-up response and remedial activities, labeling, loading, off loading, and coordinating transportation.
• Maintain a professional image to clients by answering inquiries and suggesting solutions to existing/potential problems.
• Comply with all DOT/EPA and Veolia Environmental Services policies.
• Become familiar with regulatory paperwork to exp exped disposal of hazardous waste.
• Operate and maintain all equipment in a professional manner to ensure optimum efficiency and effectiveness.
• Other duties as assigned.
