Job summary

TURBOCAM International seeks a professional to organize and coordinate Hazardous Materials and Hazardous Waste Programs ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local requirements. Responsibilities include shipments, inspections, documentation, and safety operations across facilities.

The role requires DOT training, certification eligibility, and strong MS Office/ERP skills, with on-site activity and potential for growth within environmental safety programs.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in a shop environment.
  • Must obtain NH DES Hazardous Waste Coordinator Certificate.
  • Must attend DOT hazardous shipment training.
  • Experience with governmental agencies (OSHA and EPA) a plus.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and ERP software (Epicor helpful).
  • Must possess valid driver’s license, forklift certifiable, and obtain DOT medical card.
  • Must pass medical evaluation for respirator use.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate hazardous waste shipments, prepare waste for shipments, and load/inspect waste containers.
  • Conduct weekly and monthly environmental inspections for SAA/CAA areas, spill kits, and waste location audits.
  • Perform routine hazardous waste management activities (inventories, reports, vendor scheduling, waste haul oversight).
  • Develop, implement, and maintain waste reduction programs.
  • Conduct SPCC inspections monthly and document on SPCC form.
  • Maintain waste containers and inventory labels; keep SPCC docs for chemical storage areas.
  • Maintain required documentation.
  • Respond to onsite inspections/audits by authorities.
  • Communicate clearly with stakeholders; maintain relationships with officials.
  • Respond to emergencies during/after hours.
  • Stay updated on regulations and certifications.
  • Assist to verify state quarterly hazardous materials reports.
  • Perform weekly/monthly safety inspections.
  • Act as on-call team member.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.

where you will be responsible for organizing and coordinating Hazardous Materials and Hazardous Waste Programs to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulatory requirements, and perform related work as required.

  • Perform routine industrial and hazardous waste management activities such as waste inventories, required reports, vendor scheduling, and waste haul oversight.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain waste reduction programs.
  • Conduct monthly SPCC inspections of storage locations and document on SPCC form.
  • Maintain waste containers and label inventory, SPCC item inventory for chemical and waste storage areas.
  • Maintain all necessary and applicable documentation as required.
  • Respond to onsite facility inspections/audits by federal, state, and local authorities.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing and maintain effective relationships with people encountered in the course of business including state and local officials.
  • Respond to emergencies (during or after hours) in order to resolve immediate environmental and safety concerns.
  • Stay up to date on all job‑related regulations, qualifications, and certifications.
  • Assist to verify state‑issued quarterly hazardous materials reports as needed.
  • Perform and document weekly/monthly safety inspections.
  • Act as a member of the on‑call team.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.
Bring Your Expertise:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in a shop environment desired.
  • Must be able to obtain NH DES Hazardous Waste Coordinator Certificate.
  • Must attend DOT hazardous shipment training.
  • Experience with governmental agencies (i.e. OSHA and EPA) along with state and local standards a plus.
  • Creativity, latitude and independent decision‑making are required.
  • Ability and willingness to obtain training and certificates needed to perform tasks associated with position.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and ERP software (Epicor helpful). Strong computer skills required.
  • Use of preventative maintenance software for scheduling and record keeping (i.e. Epicor and SharePoint).
  • Must possess valid driver’s license from his/her state of residence, forklift certifiable, and be able to obtain a DOT medical card.
  • Must have ability to pass medical evaluation for respirator use and abide by requirements for wearing respiratory protection.
  • Requires occasional lifting and carrying of 50 lbs. in a safe manner and request assistance when warranted.
  • Must be able to climb in and out of small places; crawl around machinery.
  • Must have range of motion sufficient to permit climbing stairs and ladders, walking, standing, stooping and crouching for extended periods while performing duties.
