Job summary

Grace Federal Solutions in Durham, NC is seeking a Safety Technician to manage hazardous waste streams across university, hospital, clinics, and lab settings. You will collect, segregate, and document waste while ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, NRC, and RCRA requirements.

The role requires an Associate’s degree in safety or related field, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, wear respirators, and operate data systems to maintain records and generate reports.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations for hazardous material management.
• Ability to utilize computer technology to access data, maintain records, and generate reports.

Responsibilities

• Collect, segregate, and manage hazardous chemical wastes.
• Collect and manage hazardous pharmaceutical, radiological, universal, and other waste streams.
• Comply with OSHA, EPA, DOT, NRC, and RCRA requirements.
• Communicate policies and procedures to the supervisor for regulatory compliance.
• Safely handle waste containers and heavy drums (up to 400 lb).
• Work in environments from standard offices to IDLH atmospheres with protective gear.
