Job summary

Veolia in North America is seeking a Hazardous Waste Technician in Creedmoor, NC to perform outside waste tasks while wearing PPE. The role includes consolidating waste, labeling, sampling, manifesting and coordinating transport, with a focus on safety and regulatory compliance.

The position requires a high school diploma (GED acceptable) and offers opportunities for growth; a 40-hour HAZWOPER certification and a valid driver's license are required, with potential to obtain Class A/B CDL with

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related science preferred.
• Strong teamwork and communication abilities.
• Time management and customer service orientation.
• Computer proficiency and ability to follow procedures.

Responsibilities

• Consolidate hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials at designated sites using appropriate equipment.
• Decontaminate and dispose of empty drums and containers per RCRA guidelines.
• Assist in completing paperwork for processing materials.
• Sample waste streams according to policies.
• Manifesting, packaging, spill cleanup and coordinating transportation.
• Maintain a professional image and respond to client inquiries with solutions.
• Comply with DOT/EPA and Veolia policies.
• Operate and maintain equipment to ensure efficiency.
• Other duties as assigned.
