Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of experience in hazardous materials management or a Master's degree in a related field.
Hazardous waste operations training including annual refreshers.
Experience at a major research institution is preferred.
Responsibilities
Manage hazardous waste, radioactive waste, and materials recycling for the University.
Oversee regulatory obligations and compliance.
Ensure safe environment through training and consultation.
Skills
NC Class C or higher valid Commercial Driver’s License with hazardous materials endorsement
40 Hour HAZWOPER certification
Environmental regulatory compliance experience
Education
4 year degree in physical science, biological science, environmental science/engineering, or closely related field
Master’s degree preferred
