Job summary

Veolia North America is hiring for a hazardous waste handler responsible for moving solids and liquids, performing tasks under supervision, and ensuring safe operations in a hazardous environment. The role requires adherence to PPE policies and proper handling of materials using various equipment.

Ideal candidates have a High School diploma or GED and some experience in hazardous waste, with forklift proficiency and the ability to read manifests and labels.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• 3–6 months of hazardous waste/chemical industry experience preferred.
• Proficiency with forklifts and a variety of hand tools preferred.
• No unsatisfactory attendance or disciplinary issues in past 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload containers of various sizes manually or with equipment.
• Follow PPE policies and use supplied breathing air as required.
• Review manifests and handle containers by DOT compatibility.
• Operate 5-gas meter and inspect for discrepancies; maintain clean work area.
