Job summary

Veolia North America is seeking a Process Planner to review, approve, and route hazardous waste containers through treatment processes, ensuring chemical compatibility, worker safety, and regulatory compliance. The role bridges Production, Operations, and Approvals to optimize waste processing while maintaining safety standards.

The position requires a BS in Chemistry or related discipline and 2–4 years of experience in the hazardous waste industry, with strong communication and time-management

Qualifications

• BS in Chemistry or related discipline required.
• 2–4 years prior work experience in the hazardous waste industry preferred.
• Extensive knowledge in processing methodologies.
• Strong team player with excellent communication skills.
• Time management: ability to organize and meet multiple deadlines.
• Strong customer orientation and ability to present information clearly.

Responsibilities

• Prepare burn plans for hazardous waste types, instructions for heating and chlorine values.
• Provide instructions to hourly personnel for safe handling of solid changes and proper incineration.
• Prepare plans for specialty and feeder systems including type of waste and residual handling.
• Maintain and update reactive database and waste profiles for proper burn requirements.
• Ensure hazardous waste inventory is processed within designated time parameters.
• Work with operations to determine preferred handling methods for waste streams.
• Prepare weekly and monthly reports to ensure burn plans are effective and efficient.
• Other duties as assigned.
