Job summary

VNS Federal Services is seeking a proactive HAZWOPER Supervisor to oversee safety and operations at a cleanup site in Moss Landing, CA. The role ensures regulatory compliance, manages emergency response efforts, and promotes a culture of safety.

You will lead field crews, supervise technicians, enforce the HASP, and coordinate training such as 40-hour HAZWOPER and OSHA 30-GI, with a background in project management or engineering.

Qualifications

• 40-hour HAZWOPER training required.
• OSHA 30-HR General Industry Training preferred.
• First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor Certification preferred.
• Experience leading hazardous materials cleanup or similar operations preferred.
• Strong leadership and supervisory capabilities essential.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee safety and operations at a HAZWOPER cleanup site to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Supervise field crews and assign work to technicians based on training and skill.
• Enforce the Health and Safety Plan (HASP) and monitor PPE usage and procedures.
• Coordinate emergency response and spill containment activities.
• Conduct safety briefings and hazard communication with teams.
• Lead project objectives to completion with minimal risk.
