Job summary

BB&E seeks a dynamic Hazardous Waste Lead for NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX. The role oversees cradle-to-grave hazardous waste management, records, and regulatory reporting, while staffing training and SOP development.

Strong background in RCRA, HAZWOPER, and waste characterization is required. Responsibilities include maintaining WDTS/NAMS records, implementing procedures, and coordinating with government and center teams to ensure safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years’ experience in RCRA hazardous waste management and cradle-to-grave oversight.
• BS degree or higher in environmental science, engineering, or related field.
• RCRA Hazardous Waste Management training, DOT Hazmat Employee, and 40 hours OSHA HAZWOPER.
• Ability to prepare waste turn-in, shipping, and tracking documents.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all waste management/disposal records.
• Manage user accounts in NASA Account Management System (IDMAX NAMS).
• Use WDTS to maintain records and attend configuration meetings.
• Develop SOPs for the hazardous waste program.
• Conduct sampling and waste characterization.
• Prepare hazardous waste reports and regulatory submissions.
• Provide training materials and conduct training on compliance programs.
