Job summary

Amentum is seeking an Environmental Tech at the Red River Army Depot in Texarkana, TX. Responsibilities include preparing hazardous wastes for storage, shipment and disposal, and operating systems and equipment for monitoring and analysis.

Required are a 40-hour HazWoper certification, a valid CDL Class A, ability to obtain security clearance, and strong safety awareness. The role includes warehousing tasks and potential field testing across air, water and soil samples.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current 40 hour HazWoper certification.
• Must possess and maintain a valid CDL Class A driver’s license and be able to operate a government general-purpose vehicle.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance for access to the Depot Production Computer System.
• Must be willing to follow all established safety rules and protocols.
• Must work in a safe manner to protect themselves and others.
• Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Prepares hazardous wastes for storage, shipment and disposal.
• Operates a forklift to move hazardous materials and waste containers.
• Collects samples of gases, air, water and soil for pollutant analysis.
• Conducts tests and field investigations to determine pollutant sources and control methods.
• May operate monitoring or data collection stations and assist in emissions analyses.
• Performs warehousing duties related to receipt, storage, handling and turn-in of depot hazardous waste and materials.
