Job summary

Amentum seeks an Environmental Tech to support hazardous waste management at Red River Army Depot. You will prepare wastes for storage, tracking with HMIDS, and perform compliance inspections, sampling, and environmental testing.

Your responsibilities include warehousing, forklift operation, emergency spill response, data collection, and enforcing safety policies. A High School Diploma, Hazwoper cert, security clearance, and English proficiency are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or the equivalent is required.
• Minimum of three (3) years of related work experience is required.
• Must possess a current 40 hour Hazwoper certification.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and be able to operate a government general-purpose vehicle.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance for access to the Depot Production Computer System.
• Must be willing to follow all established safety rules and protocols.
• Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.
• Note: US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.

Responsibilities

• Prepares hazardous wastes for storage, shipment and disposal.
• Uses HMIDS to track and monitor hazardous material and waste on depot and conducts environmental compliance inspections.
• Performs warehousing duties related to receipt, storage, handling and turn-in of depot hazardous waste and materials.
• Operates a forklift capable of lifting loads and moves hazardous materials and waste containers; participates in Emergency Spill Response Team activities.
• Conducts tests and field investigations to aid environmental, engineering and scientific personnel in pollutant control.
• Collects samples of gases, water, soils and other sources to assess pollution and processes data for review.
• Maintains monitoring equipment and performs routine maintenance on test instrumentation.
