Job summary

Cherokee Federal seeks an IT support specialist to sustain the Hazardous Materials Management System (HMMS) program at MCLB Albany, GA. The role focuses on operating and maintaining HM/HW EAS to track hazardous materials lifecycle per DoD requirements.

Responsibilities include data maintenance, audits, reporting for EPCRA, and user support; strong documentation, compliance with federal and DoD standards, and ability to work independently with multiple priorities.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years of direct HMMS experience.
• Knowledge of the DLA cloud-based HMMS platform and service-specific implementation procedures.
• Understand the hazardous-material lifecycle from purchase to disposal.
• Ability to research materials, reconcile inventory, and support compliance reporting.
• Clear communication with customers, program managers, and HQMC support personnel.

Responsibilities

• Maintain HMMS data: AULs, receipts, usage reports, inventory transactions, barcodes.
• Develop and maintain base-wide and tenant-specific AULs; process additions/removals.
• Support HMMS users by troubleshooting database and barcode-printer issues.
• Extract, validate, and prepare HMMS data for EPCRA submissions and reports.
• Conduct audits and site visits to verify HMMS compliance.
• Document audits, findings, and follow-up actions.
• Update HMMS SOPs and data-entry procedures.
