Job summary

Clemson University is seeking an Environmental/Health Manager II to assist in developing and implementing the Hazardous Materials Program at Clemson, SC. The role includes regulatory oversight for hazardous waste management under RCRA, SCHWMR, TSCA, CWA, CAA and DOT requirements.

Responsibilities include hazardous waste pickups from 600+ satellite areas, data entry into the hazardous waste database, maintenance of the HWM-CAA facilities, and interaction with contractors to support daily

Qualifications

High school diploma and experience in environmental health programs or radiological health.
Bachelor's degree in natural or physical sciences, mathematics, public health, engineering or related technical field may substitute for the required work experience.
Fundamental working knowledge of federal, state and local hazardous waste regulations and related requirements.

Responsibilities

Provide consultations and technical assistance to generators of hazardous waste, including container/PPE selection, emergency response, spill decontamination, safe storage/segregation, and hazardous waste determinations to ensure regulatory compliance (RCRA, SCHWMR, TSCA, CWA, CAA, DOT).
Provide consultations, training and certification in Hazardous Materials Transportation to ensure compliance with DOT 49 CFR, ICAO, and IATA.
