Job summary

Intertek in Plano, Texas is seeking an Engineer-HazLOC to join its Electrical team. This entry-level role focuses on evaluating safety for Hazardous (Classified) Locations and may require travel up to 75% of the time.

The engineer will read national codes, set up tests, document results, and communicate status to clients and management while developing technical judgments within established parameters. Bachelor's degree in engineering is required; new grads are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Ability to use basic shop equipment and hand tools is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Read and determine applicability of national codes and standards clauses for the EUT (equipment under test).
• Validate the project scope and sample applicability.
• Set up and operate EUT; perform and document simple repairs on EUT as needed.
• Perform testing of products in accordance with standards.
• Complete preliminary design reviews (PDR) on and off site.
• Develop, set up, and follow established test plans.
• Compile test results and final report for reviewer
• Communicate project status and results to client and management.
• Provide on-going support to clients as needed.
