Job summary

TÜV SÜD America Inc. is seeking experienced Field Evaluation Engineers/Electrical Inspectors to perform field evaluations and inspections on client equipment across North America.

The role involves testing at vendor sites, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering detailed documentation for field labeling and certification. Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of direct experience in hazardous location field evaluations and/or product certification.
• Hands-on experience evaluating industrial machinery in hazardous locations.
• Strong knowledge of hazardous location protection methods (Ex d, Ex i, Ex p, Ex e).
• Familiarity with NFPA 79, UL 508A, IEC/UL 60204-1.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, panel layouts, and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform field evaluations of industrial machinery and electrical equipment installed in hazardous locations.
• Assess compliance with applicable codes and standards including NFPA 70, NFPA 79, UL 508A, UL 698A.
• Evaluate machinery for electrical safety, grounding/bonding, and suitable component selection for HazLoc environments.
• Prepare detailed field evaluation reports and supporting technical documentation.
• Interface with clients, AHJs, and internal teams to support project execution.
