Tyson Foods, Hays Hatchery in North Carolina is hiring for a 1st Shift Hatchery Worker. The role pays $17.20 per hour and runs roughly 4:45 AM to 3:45 PM, Monday, Tuesday, Friday with alternating Thursdays and Saturdays.

You will handle chick-related tasks, operate equipment, follow safety rules, and assist with other duties as needed. Applicants must have at least 6 months of work history in the last 12 months, be able to stand for long shifts, lift 40+ pounds, and be comfortable reading labels

Qualifications

• Must have 6 months of work history in the last 12 months.
• Must be able to stand for long shifts (~10 hours).
• Must be able to lift 40+ pounds and perform physical tasks.
• Must be able to work varying days and hours as needed.

Responsibilities

• Work in damp/warm conditions and maintain safety.
• Pull, grade, breakouts and wash trays and machines.
• Move buggies, clean areas and place chickens in houses.
• Mix vaccine and dispense formaldehyde; operate Embrex machines.
• Perform machine checks and report issues to management.

Must be able to complete task independently some shifts may require you to work aloneREQUIRMENTS OF THE JOB1.Must be able to pull chicks, grade chicks, breakouts, washing trays and machines, moving buggies, cleaning, place chickens in the houses, mix vaccine, dispense formaldehyde, run embrex machines which will work various hours and days, also help tray, and set eggs.2.Must be able to stand duration of shift. (Usually, 10 hours with two unpaid 30-minute breaks).3.Bending, twisting, and turning body from side to side to see and keep up product in work area.4. Must have good hand/eye coordination.5. Includes lifting, pulling, pushing, squatting, climbing, bending, reaching, rolling buggies6. Must be able to obtain lockout tagout certification, pallet jack and moffett licenseIII. TYPES OF EQUIPMENT/PPE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION.1. Gloves provided (if desired), Water/skid proof footwear, electric Hand Jack3. Wear PPE ear protection (plugs or muffs), hair bonnet and beard guard. (If desired).4.
