Job summary

Tyson Foods is seeking a worker for a first-shift role in the United States. Pay is $17.20 per hour. Schedule is 4:45 AM to 3:45 PM, Monday, Tuesday, Friday, with alternating Thursdays and Saturdays. Holiday work may be required.

The position requires physical stamina, ability to lift 40+ pounds, and flexibility with hours. Relocation assistance is not offered. Tyson Foods is an Equal Opportunity Employer; background checks may be required.

• Must be able to pull chicks, grade chicks, breakouts, washing trays and machines, moving buggies, cleaning, place chickens in the houses, mix vaccine, dispense formaldehyde, run embrex machines which will work various hours and days, also help tray, and set eggs.

• Must be able to start generators and complete some maintenance on machines when issues arise.
• Must be able to communicate with management and maintenance when issues arise.
• Must be able to complete task independently; some shifts may require you to work alone.

Job Details: Pay is $17.20 per hour. Schedule 4:45 AM - 3:45 PM Mon, Tues, Fri you will alternate between Thurs and Saturdays Holiday work will be required sometimes. Must be willing to help with different days and hrs. as needed.

• Must always ensure safety and be responsible for keeping work area free of clutter and/or tripping hazard and always organized.
• Must be able to perform machine checks such as, follow instructions and document findings.
• Must be able to start generators, and complete some maintenance on machines when issues arise.
• Must be able to communicate with management and maintenance when issues arise.
• Must be able to complete task independently some shifts may require you to work alone.

REQUIRMENTS OF THE JOB

• Must be able to pull chicks, grade chicks, breakouts, washing trays and machines, moving buggies, cleaning, place chickens in the houses, mix vaccine, dispense formaldehyde, run embrex machines which will work various hours and days, also help tray, and set eggs.
• Must be able to stand duration of shift. (Usually, 10 hours with two unpaid 30-minute breaks).
• Bending, twisting, and turning body from side to side to see and keep up product in work area.
• Must have good hand/eye coordination.
• Includes lifting, pulling, pushing, squatting, climbing, bending, reaching, rolling buggies.
• Must be able to obtain lockout tagout certification, pallet jack and moffett license III.

TYPES OF EQUIPMENT/PPE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION

• Gloves provided (if desired), Water/skid proof footwear, electric Hand Jack
• Wear PPE ear protection (plugs or muffs), hair bonnet and beard guard. (If desired).
• Must wear respirator when dispensing formaldehyde (no beard (older than 24 hours) and if wear mustache must be cropped at corners of mouth).
