Job summary

E2 Consulting Engineers, LP in Hawaii seeks a Utility Distribution Planner to support major electric utility clients. You will review applications, coordinate with stakeholders, prepare cost estimates and bills of materials, perform field inspections, and deliver complete construction-ready job packages. The role requires local work in Hawaii with relocation offered.

Travel up to 25% may be needed. Candidates should have an Associate degree in Electrical Engineering/Technology and at least 1

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Electrical Engineering/Technology from an accredited college/university or similar degree.
• 1+ years as a planner/designer working on distribution system projects.
• Familiarity with utility infrastructure planning workflows, including application review, RFI response, cost estimating, and job package preparation.
• Working understanding of NESC or similar standards.
• Ability to perform field inspections and document findings per client or agency standards.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to review submittals and thoroughly check work.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills; ability to engage with contractors, developers, and public agency stakeholders
• Must live on one of the Hawaiian Islands or willing to relocate.

Responsibilities

• Review electric service applications for overhead/underground installations.
• Comment on project submittals throughout the project life cycle.
• Respond to RFIs in a timely and accurate manner.
• Prepare initial bill of materials and cost estimates.
• Perform field inspections and prepare field reports.
• Prepare complete job packages for construction.
• Validate design information against utility standards.
• Attend meetings with stakeholders and collaborate to meet scope, schedule, budget.
