Job summary

Sentry seeks an Underwriting Leader to build and own a new Hawaii book of business on Oahu. You will set strategy, lead independent agents, and drive profitable growth across commercial lines while supervising a small underwriting team.

You will oversee premium trends, loss ratios, and market dynamics to achieve business unit goals, with a compensation range reflecting senior leadership responsibilities.

Qualifications

• 10+ years underwriting experience in standard commercial lines P&C in Hawaii.
• Familiar with Commercial Lines marketplace and working with island agents.
• Proven ability to grow and manage a profitable book of business.

Responsibilities

• Direct the positioning of products to increase premium, profit, and market share.
• Create and execute a business strategy to optimize growth and profitability.
• Lead a small underwriting team with performance oversight and growth.
• Plan meetings with agents and solicit accounts through independent agents.
• Monitor results, premium trends, and loss ratios for the territory.
• Collaborate with product and pricing teams to introduce enhancements.
