Job summary

Highgate Hotels seeks a senior finance leader to shape the financial strategy for its Hawaii portfolio. You will partner with hotel leaders and owners to drive performance, oversee reporting, and align regional plans with company standards.

You will coach finance teams, manage cash and capital planning, ensure GAAP and USALI compliance, and travel across the islands to maintain strong owner relationships and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of progressive hotel finance experience with multi-property leadership.
• Strategic partner to General Managers and senior operations leaders, influencing commercial decisions.
• Proven owner-relations experience: presenting to ownership groups and managing reporting.
• Hawaii market experience preferred; familiarity with GET/TAT, resort operations, and unionized labor environment.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills; relationship-first approach and alignment with local culture.
• Strong technical command of hotel finance systems; Excel, and related planning tools.
• Deep knowledge of USALI, GAAP, internal controls, and hotel mgmt agreement structures.
• Proven leadership and talent development capabilities across property finance teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to calibrate messaging for owners and executives.
• Willingness to travel regularly between islands; Hawaii residence required.
• CPA, CHAE, or equivalent certification a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as strategic finance partner to General Managers and Executive Committees across the Hawaii portfolio; influence pricing and profitability decisions.
• Partner with Group President – Hawaii on regional strategy, owner relations, and market positioning; translate results into action.
• Oversee month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, forecasting, budgeting, and 5-year plans for the region.
• Ensure compliance with Hawaii tax/regulatory requirements (GET, TAT) and internal controls per policy.
• Provide financial leadership, training, and succession planning for Area Directors of Finance and Controllers.
• Maintain risk management, treasury, and working capital across the portfolio; train property teams.
• Represent Highgate credibly in owner meetings and maintain durable owner relationships.
